Come and visit the CT Audubon Society Smith Richardson Preserve with its spectacular fall stopover habitat for land birds. This is a great place for sparrows and other seed eating birds. The trails are flat and wide with maybe a mile of easy walking. Time might run until noon. The Connecticut Audubon Society has embarked on a massive habitat restoration project here in recent years. Feed plots are planted to help out compete invasive plants in between the planted trees and shrubs. Can be amazing for sparrows. Has hosted Blue Grosbeak, Dickcissel, Lark Sparrow and Clay-colored Sparrows in recent years.
